APNA Speer Blvd Monuments Project
APNA is very pleased to show the progress on the stone street monuments that mark Ogden, Emerson, Clarkson, Washington, Pearl and Pennsylvania streets off of Speer Blvd. Because of the cost, APNA was having difficulty finding a way to finance this project. However, Flor Alvidrez, councilperson, for our District 7 on the City Council, was able to secure funds for a donation from the City Council to help APNA get this project started. Thank you Flor! APNA would also like to thank Mark Montoya and Caleb Todd, of Flor's office, for their help in distributing the funds for this project.
Another big thank you goes to Butch Petsche of Butch's Masonry. Butch worked through some tough weather conditions to reconstruct one entire monument on the east side of Pennsylvania Street. Butch also did some repositioning and some tuck-point work on the west side Pennsylvania monument. (Before and after pictures below.)
As stated earlier, this work on the Pennsylvania Street monuments is just the beginning. APNA still needs help to finish this Speer Blvd Street Monuments Project. We would love to hear from anyone who would be able to provide financial aid for APNA to complete this project.
